This is for the May Tickle. Jan wanted us to show something that represented heaven for us. Growing up in Minnesota one is surrounded by lakes...literally...10,000 according to our license plates (I've actually heard it's more than that). All I know is that whenever I'm near one of them, either "Up North" at a cabin or at one of the many lakes within the city limits of St. Paul or Minneapolis I'm calm, relaxed, serene...it's heaven!
I colored the scene (Northwoods, a local company btw) with copics and cut out. My frame is made with a piece of watercolor paper that had blue distress inks applied. I stamped the fish and watercolored..then drew little bubbles to connect them.

Well, it's definitely my husband's idea of heaven, especially with the fish jumping all around. It's a lovely scene (as long as the cabin has wifi and access to a grocery store....)

Lakes are definitely relaxing! We sometimes borrow a holiday cottage from friends with a lake view, I could sit there for hours looking out. I could look at this for a long time too; what a detailed scene, and so beautifully coloured. The little sun and the fish frame add a real Polly touch of whimsy.

Polly this is so perfect and perfectly Minnesotan. I'm heading "up" to Grand Marais this coming week and will be soaking up all of that lake atmosphere. Love it!
