I had no idea where this card for the MIX challenge was going when I grabbed the matches this morning. Luckily I did not ruin my image and the house is still in tact. (barely) One of my matches broke, as I struck it on the box, and the end with the fire hit the floor. The basement floor in the laundry tub area is a dark color so if it has a burnt spot, it does not show. The fire alarm did not go off so that was a "good thing". Once the card was burned I chose a octagon spellbinders to go behind the image as that was the closest shape I could find to go with it. Since I burned the card, I decided to go with the Hot and Spicy theme.
I will give this to my friends husband for his birthday next month. Now I have to figure out a sentiment for the inside - I will have to think on that one. Maybe I will get him a bottle of Sriracha sauce to go with it.
I chose gingham paper for the Free 4 All challenge today.
The whole time I was burning my image, I was singing "Burning Down The House" by Talking Heads.
Thanks, for looking at my card and have a wonderful weekend.

Thanks for the giggle today. The things we stampers do for a challenge. This really turned out great with the burnt edges. The truck is perfect for a guy card. TFS

Oh, Shirt, this is an awesome guy card - you know how they say, some like it hot!? Well this card really came through with the HOT & SPICY plate! Great using the gingham and the hot chili peppers as embellishments - that friend is going to be mighty HAPPY!

Yeah, I don't want to be the reason anyone's house burns down. Heehee! Glad you didn't create a big mess. This is very cool and he's really going to appreciate it. Thanks so much for playing the challenge!

That sounds like the sort of adventure Susie Australia has making her cards. Glad all is well (I shouldn't laugh because I have never been able to light a match myself).
This is a fun masculine card with that fun juxtaposition of chilis, hot and spicy, and burned edges.

Fun card for your friend's husband....hope you relate the near disaster you had in creating it!! Like the truck at a jaunty angle and the added hot peppers.
