Well - I did it! But...............it will not be used!!! I tried painting and it was just starting to get muddy with the lighter paints so I dried it and then used Tim Holtz distress inks and that did not really work either. I used Wink of Stella to make the main ray shine. I WISH I could paint, but this is what every attempt at it turns out like - a failure! tfl
I feel you are being too hard on yourself! I like the sky you created. I know it is not quite what you had in mind. You tried; that in itself is a victory! Wait a day or two then pull your card out and look at it again. Look for what you like about it. How did you achieve that? What do you dislike? Think about how you can improve those areas. I believe you have learned a lot from creating this card. Another victory! TFS!

Your card is stunningly GORGEOUS!!! I believe that all of us who have seen this photo before we looked at the picture you wanted it to look like can agree that you have a wonderful piece of art here! When you aren't comparing it to anything, your masterpiece stands alone on it's own merits. It's Beautiful!

Oh no, please don't feel that way! I can't color either. In fact, I'm extremely limited to either Asian or humor. And the gallery doesn't really like either of those styles, so there you have it. I've spent I don't know how much money on inks and watched more UT videos than I can to remember, and still color I can not. Interestingly and truthfully, when I saw your card as a thumbnail I thought 'wow, that's a gorgeous sympathy card'.
It has strong sky colors and the tree is so perfectly positioned on the side.
W/C isn't for everyone. No big deal. We just have to focus on doing what we do best. But believe me, I think your card is dramatic and makes an incredible statement.

Rita, I agree that you are being too hard on yourself. Take a look at it in a week, or a month. And if you still don't like it, you can always do what I do - paint over it with gesso. I can't tell you how many times I have done that and been thrilled with the result or able to do something else on top of it.
Personally, I think it's pretty and quite interesting!

Yikes, can't believe that you think this card is a failure! My first thought when I saw your creation was how clever you were to plan to have that shaft of light appear to come down from Heaven to guide recipient to the comforting words. Totally awesome design concept!
I looked at the card you intended it to look like and it IS wonderful. That doesn't mean that your's is less wonderful, it's just a different take on the same concept. I vote that you keep the card in your stash - it deserves to be used!
