I love drawings on black paper but attempted it once and couldn't get good color intensity. Just bought a set of Prism color pencils so gave it another try. I have always wanted to sketch a picture of a black lab mix I owned years ago. Found a puppy picture of her and sketched this freehand on black before adding color with pencils. I planned to make a card from my image but think I will frame it as a way to remember a wonderful companion. "anything but a card" category.

Kate this is a magnificent work of art. I thought it was a photo!!! Words fail me, I don't think I have ever seen anything so wonderful. I had a lab for many years, so I understand how you feel. You are a true artist Kate, I keep getting lost in Daphne's eyes.

My word, this is amazing! I agree that you should definitely frame it! What a beautiful creature with lovely eyes, and you've captured all that so lovingly! Wonderfully, beautifully done!

How beautiful - white on black is very hard to master, since it's so opposite of how we normally use color. Well done, and what a sweet 'capture' of a beautiful memory.
