This was such a fun project to make.
It only took me about nearly 2 years....!!! NO not to make it but to finally get around making it.
It's a rolling suitcase to hold a mini album. Back in 2012 I saw this pattern and immediate fell in love with it and bought it. The pattern is designed by Laura Denison from Following the Paper Trail at lauradenisondesigns.com
If you haven't heard of her go checkout her website, she has some amazing projects and her tutorials are very clear and fun to make. She has tons of video's to show you how to make the projects.
So I bought the pattern and new exactly what paper collection I was going to use: G45 Tropical Travelogue, I've hoarded the 12"x12" en the 8"x8" paper pads and finally they where going to be used, but you know how it sometimes goes, live gets in the way of crafting. I was buzzy with other stuff and to make sure nothing was getting lost I tucked everything away and before you know it out of sight out of mind.
Finally this weekend it was time, so I dusted of the chipboard, sharpened up the craft knife and I was on a ROLL!
The whole suitcase is made out of black medium weight chipboard covered with different pieces of G45 DP. All the edges where inked with SU close to cocoa. The pulley wheels are from Tim Holtz, the Idea-ology range. The suitcase can really roll.
The retractable handle is made out of the black chipboard and a piece of DP wrapped around it.
On the front of the case there is a pocket to tuck in some cards or tags.
The flower and leaves are fuzzy cut and distressed with ink, the butterfly is from my stash, I jazzed it up with some twine and a few flat back pearls, some G45 stickers are placed. On the side there are a few luggage tags and a globe charm hanging on a piece of twine.
The suitcase has a real zipper, that was for me the hardest part to get right, but with the help of some scor-tape and glossy accents it worked out okay.
Now are you ready to take a look inside...

I've purchased several things from Laura...now, I'm moving into designing my own stuff. But I wouldn't be able to had I not been working these tutorials...that's how we learn! And I'm crazy about the the 3D aspect...I found it was my niche' and I'm always excited to find others that love it too! You did an outstanding job on this! You should be so proud!!!
