I made this card for the SCS Clean and Simple Challenge CAS311 of Rainbows. I am always running late for challenges because I see them and then think about what I could make and before I blink, a week has gone by and I haven't done anything yet! And I am the s-l-o-w-e-s-t cardmaker on earth - even when it is a simple card which seems to take me longer than one with layers :-) Here are the details on the challenge---> CAS311 - 2/9/15 - Rainbow by mrslaird at Splitcoaststampers Thankfully there are no time limits on challenges so you can play anytime. My rainbow is the colours on the party hat that the dog is wearing.
The image, sentiment and die are from Taylored Expressions - Paw-some. I stamped the image using my MISTI onto Ranger Watercolor cardstock using Ranger Archival Jet Black ink and coloured it using Lyra + Faber-Castell watercolor pencils and a #2 round paintbrush. I added the black patches myself then diecut the image using my Big Shot and popped it up on dimensionals.
I added some Glossy Accents to the dog's nose and once dry, added a dot of white acrylic paint for some highlight. I added Stampin' Up Dazzling Details glitter glue to the hat on the dog and on the birds: gotta have plenty of sparkle and shine on a feminine card :-) I also added tiny pink Molossi rhinestones to the dog's collar to make the collar look like one of those fancy diamante collars.
The twine came from my local Supermarket and I added some iridescent sequins and stars which came from a $2 shop; they were glued on using Ranger Multi-Matt Medium.
Lastly, I corner-punched the white cardstock using a We R Memory Keepers 1/2 inch Corner Chomper which my wonderful DH gave me for Christmas :-)
This card will be going to my SIL for her birthday. I have made a masculine version using the same stamps and die-set - please see my Gallery.

This is the cutest card ever! Love how you gave him spots and lots of glitter and rhinestones. The sequins and twine are perfect accents. I'm going to have to get this stamp set; the dog is adorable but the birds still have me laughing.

I could see that image getting a lot of use in my household! I love the way you have coloured it! Great additional embellishment with the twine and sequins. Enough but not too much! Love it!
