Loll Thompson is hosting a CAS challenge at Happy Little Stampers. The theme this month is "Embossing" - whatever type you like. You can enter more than once so I thought I'd start with a card using heat embossing as that is what got me hooked on stamping in the first place. I just love the magic of that embossing powder melting into the ink.
I used my large Christmas star stamp which gave me another chance to use my new MISTI - I got perfect ink coverage with it! I used a fairly thick embossing powder - you can see in the photo how it gives some texture rather than a totally smooth finish of detail embossing powder.
For the gold border layer, I used a technique I learned from Gina K. I ran the ink pad along the edges of the cs and added the same embossing powder, heated it, and ended up with a perfectly matched piece to add behind the top cream layer.
The star is fussy cut, scored and folded, and mounted on dimensionals - thin ones at the points and thicker ones in the centre.

Gorgeous and elegant card Susan. Love the texture from your embossing powder ... gives it an antique finish. Thanks so much for playing along at Happy Little Stampers! xx
