I made a second card for today's challenge, using my new and LOVED Tim Holtz Crazy birds and Watercolor sets. What happened: after I uploaded my Crazy Bird Love card, I realized the staples had gone in wrong and all four had sharp edges. I tried to push them into place to no avail. I tried to file them down w/an emery board to no avail. Gave up and tore the card apart. Salvaged the oval and used it on this second card. I love the way the Crazy Bird is intently watching the butterflies.
Used a triple stamp shadow technique I came up with a long time ago. Stamp light color (PTI plum pudding), clean stamp. Drop your stamp down a bit and stamp again in kraft white (SU.) Clean stamp. Wait a few minutes, then with a rag ( I use a cotton/knit blend), gently rub the white over the bottom half of the first color to blend. Drop down a bit further and stamp in a dark color (Versafine black.) On this card, I think the shadow effect adds interest and gives dimension to the butterflies, which otherwise would have been one layer, one color.
THANKS for looking!

Cute birdie! He looks like he is envious of those beautiful butterflies, yes? With his poor under-developed wings, I'm sure he can't fly yet. poor guy! This is just to cute!

Sorry I missed this last week Gabby Girl. Everything about this and your other tweet little card makes me smile. Thanks for the triple stamping technique.
