This is my card for the teapot party this week. Our cards are going to Joyce Marshall, one of our own. Her younger sister passed away unexpectedly and she is just beyond heartbroken - her sister was her very best friend. We were asked especially for touches of Downtown Abbey, mixed media and/or ATCs.
This was a difficult card for me; I was in this exact situation three years ago. But creating it was beneficial to me; I hope it brings some peace to Joyce.
If I wrote a description it would be a book, and I doubt if I would get all the steps down in the proper order anyway. Just take a closer look, if you like. Most everything is fairly easy to discern.
As always, thanks for looking!

Wow, Jody! Does this card ever tell of the sisterly love that you and now, Joyce have experienced! What an artistic and masterful way to show the "connection" between two hearts that are so closely bound together, The imagery in your card touched me deeply-the 'heavenly' BG, the 'golden' arc, the cloud and the 2 hearts joined together with he gold cord - into my favorites - IMMEDIATELY!

WOW! This one does show the love between two sister's Jody! It really tugs the ol' heartstrings! What a fabulous design. Your background intrigues me and almost looks like a gelli print. The techniques and layers you use to create these are fabulous! Right into favorites!

Oh Jody, that must have been so hard for you - but also while the rest of us can sympathise, we can't imagine what it's really like. Having been there you have an understanding which means a lot to someone going through a similar situation now.
It's a beautiful card, too - I've just popped it into my favourites.

So so pretty! I love that gold in this card and the cord connecting the hearts - very creative!

Oh Jody, how meaningful this card will be to Joyce. You can tell that your heart and sole went into designing this beautiful card. The one heart it the cloud tied to the other heart is just so symbolic and says more than words can. Again, the one simple sentiment, " always", sums up that very special relationship that exists between sisters.

Jody, I am so sorry you went thru this too. Your card is beautiful and the message is so clear! I LOVE your background and see so many different stamps and soft colors! The two hearts tied together with a bond that remains strong is such a powerful message! Really perfect card! (hugs) Thank you for sharing, and I really feel like you are helping Joyce!
