My challenge this week is to envision your favorite vacation destination and let the artistic culture inspire your project.
I loved living in Turkey, and textiles were a big part of the economy. Tapestries and rugs have been shipped far and wide, and are prized possessions. I recreated the tapestry feel with this card using paper, markers, metallic elements, and a button. I hope you'll play along!

Fabulous colours and textures, with a lovely distressed feel from the embossing. This reminds me of the photography in a couple of my Kaffe Fassett knitting books.

This is so beautiful and neatly made!! I love the colors and your mosaic patterns. The metallic edge is really special and creative. I like the sentiment a lot too. What a neat experience it must have been to live in Turkey. Thanks for sharing with us. :>)

SO beautiful and I'm just so intrigued by Turkey - my friend Sue went and she's a stewardess, so she's been everywhere and I think Turkey was her favorite!
I have never been to Turkey, but have dreams of one day visiting that beautiful and colorful place. Your card is truly beautiful and I can almost feel my toes touching the soft texture of your "rug". Well done.

Ky, thank you for a wonderful challenge! Your card is so cool, I love the way you used the mosaic shapes and created the textile look, the embossing really makes it seem like a blanket or lovely scarf! Very inspiring and thank you again!!!
