This is my card, at last, for Barbara's Spread It Around challenge, to use embossing paste on our cards. I started this several days ago and went through several stages of not liking it, so I'm afraid I can't remember everything I used!
I did use the Layered Gesso Background tutorial. I started off with gesso and a script stamp and a flourish stamp, then added some light blue acrylic paint. Then I stencilled on my stars, and when they were dry I used more gesso and several luster rub-ons. I added some glitter and stickles to some of my stars, and stamped the sentiment. Then I decided to die-cut the butterflies into the base, which I'm afraid flattened my texture stars down a bit, but they do still stand up a little. I stitched the edges, distressed them and sponged heavily with purple. Added some chunky white EP and thanked my lucky stars that for once there was actually white cotton thread in my bobbin and not nylon, which I'm sure would have melted into a hot sticky mess.
I layered some scrap paper under the wings, and added some die-cut butterflies cut from another scrap of paper embossed with snowflakes.

Oh, my, oh, my! Sabrina, this is so elegantly gorgeous! Thanks for mentioning the tutorial (which I had missed) and describing all your steps. I love the butterflies and sparkly stars, and especially the sentiment, which is so lovely. Thanks for playing in my challenge!
