This is for Patricia's fun HYCCT challenge - Get Inked.
I had heaps of fun doing this, the card on the left didn't quite show enough splatter, the middle one was a bit better and finally the last card had just the right amount. I know how Goldilocks must have felt!!
I don't have reinkers so I used Distress Paint diluted with water, then picked up the little inky puddles with an eye dropper and flicked it over the background.
To add a few more dots I stamped my favourite dotty tree by Penny Black and also added spots to the grils using a Sharpie paint pen.
All the colours are Distress inks (except face), the hair was done using Tea Dye distress ink. I am sending all three cards to the hospital - they won't know that the first two are not quite right LOL.
The technique for these cards is my usual Smack and Squirt method and masking......
1. Stamp image onto cardstock
2. Mask image - best mask to make is an acetate mask. Rub the acetate mask in your hair to get a bit of static electricity, this will make it sit over the original image really well - I also use a small piece of removeable tape to hold mask in place. If the original stamp comes on an acetate sheet with the image printed on it, I cut this out and use as a mask - store with stamp.
3. Smack distress ink pad onto a piece of aluminium foil, squirt on lots of water. Use a blending tool and sponge to mop up the coloured water and swish it over the card. (Sun was applied first, masked with a post-it note).
4. Keep mask in place and add trees and garden. Remove mask.
5. Using a water pen, pick up remaining colour from the al foil sheet and apply it where the sponge missed - i.e under the girls arm and around her neck, also in and around the flowers.

Your trio of girls is terrific, and they will definitely brighten the spirits of whoever receives them! The background you've created for them is fantastic - thanks so much for sharing how you did it. Wonderful job all around! Thanks for being a part of HYCCT!

Your cards were done so cleverly to make the background - your dotty tree looks great and I love that your made 3 of these and made each just a speck different than the others!!
Clever girl, making do with what you have there in your craft room!! I probably should have diluted my reinkers to - took them forever to dry, even after I blotted them a bit. Live and learn, right??
