This one is from my heart straight to my mom. Mom has metastasized breast cancer in her spine and now lungs. She has been mulling over her options and just today has decided to do another round of chemo. Mom's faith is so strong! I wanted to send her an encouraging card, and I'd started this before she called me this evening with her decision (as of this morning she was thinking no more chemo). I inked my stamp with distress inks and then misted the stamp with water before stamping repeatedly. Did this a few times to fill my bg. I had spritzed with blue reinker spray and also spattered some very watered down brown acrylic paint. I also shook my uncapped Sharpie over the piece to get some gold spatter. I took the ink pads to the edges and spritzed them to soften the blue. I rubbed glitter glue along the edges as well. I took my wood bird cage and coated it with home made embossing paste. Once dry, I added gold sharpie and gold glitter glue highlights. I glued my bird over this. I added some Gelly Roll pen highlights on the bird and the verse and made a swirly trail behind the bird. I wrote my verse with a Micron pen. I added turquoise ribbon with gold cord.

I was so glad to hear this news earlier. You couldn't have made a more encouraging or heartfelt card for your mother. I know she'll cherish and love it, and I pray she keeps it message close. Thank you for all your time and talent and the cards you've created for the 2014 HYCTT Challenge.
