This looked like a really fun technique. I loved the examples from the mix hostesses. I really wanted to give this a try. Problem... I didn't have any magazines that would work. I had a lot of truck repair magazines. So I thought I would make my own silhouette mask using my own profile. I tried to take a profile selfie and that didn't work, so I asked my husband to take a photo of my profile. I printed the photo and cut out my profile. I used painters tape to hold the mask down. I took white paint and the itty bitty background stamp. I stamped white paint over the page. I the sprayed it all with gold shimmer spray. I quilled roses out of encyclopedia page that I colored. The encyclopedia quilled roses are because I love quilled roses and I love words. I have some friends that call me the butterfly queen because I love butterflies. I stamped an old Layers of color butterfly. The plain white really stood out so I decided to spray the butterfly with gold spray too. I also sprayed my baby's breath. I used some music notes stickers. Victoria Clear Stickers I used alphabet bet stamps to stamp out what is important to me...God, family, friends, music and art. After I was done I thought I should have added food and my computer but I already was "done". I was inspired to make this piece after watching my friend . I was also inspired by my friend Pam.

Marilynn this is lovely. How clever to use your own profile to cut a stencil from. I like how you have all the different words portraying different parts of your life. I love that gold lace in the corners, too. So many interesting details to look at on this.

Okay - I'm laughing about the truck repair magazines - that would definitely be a challenge! As usual, you came up with an incredibly beautiful solution - I love that it's YOU!!! Your layers of color are incredible. Isn't it fun how a project evolves if you let it?
