Bridget's HYCCT challenge for today was to make a card about that person in our lives that is our hero. My mother, Sarah Jane, was always and still remains my hero although she died of bone cancer eleven years ago. She raised four girls with the help of my grandparents, also heros in there own right. She had many qualities that made her very special but the one quality she most instilled in me was the value of giving. All through her life she gave unselfishly not only to her family and friends but also strangers.
One of my fondest memories of her was watching her ride her bike to work (Mountain Bell Phone Co.) wearing full skirts and high heels. She would have loved owning a pair of shoes like in this image although they probably would have been a different color. She never thought that pink looked good with her red hair. She was very strong and beyond beautiful inside and out. I miss her terribly but always feel a very strong presence of her in my life. Thanks, Bridget for a truly wonderful challenge.

What a great tribute card to your mom. She sounds like she was an amazing woman. Lovely coloring and the CAS setting adds oomph to the strong, bold statement!

Oh, Janine, I LOVED reading your description of your Mum and the special things about her that you love and remember! You know I'm a huge fan of CAS cards, and this is just fabulous, it really packs a glamorous punch of pink with a meaningful sentiment!!!! Thank you for sharing your art and your heart!
Love your card! I love that color and actually had a bright fuchsia pair when I was a MUCH younger girl! Your description of your mom is inspiring. I love the picture you gave us of her riding her bike to work in her heals! TFS!

Loved reading your warm and loving account of some of your mother's wonderful qualities and character traits. Your stilettos and accompanying sentiments are spot on in your tribute.
