I'll bet you are wondering what I masked... well I masked out the Indian on this image. For today I wanted just the Pilgrims. Aren't they just the cutest!?
My idea started with using a 'distressed' pumpkin, but my coloring was the distressing part. I really need some other type of paper so my images don't bleed! So-o-o-o-o frustrating. That's why I didn't color the skin. All I've got to say is I'm thankful for a blender!!
After the image was all colored, I stamped the senti & decided I could not use the distressed pumpkin I created. I got the bright idea of threading the ribbon. I used my scalple to make the slits & added the pieces of some older ribbon from Target - you know the 3 for $1 kind!! I created a mat on the image by using a ruler & a gold sharpie marker. It really matches the more mustard! I like this CAS look so I'm glad the pumpking thing didn't work!!
Thanks for stopping by.

I LOVE your case look and the partial black and white on your image! The ribbon weaving is a brilliant idea for a low keyed embellishment! I also like that you let your image take center stage, as it should be. What a great card, Karen!

Sweet card. I like how you threaded the ribbon. The pilgrims look fabulous with just a little coloring. The blue dress and the pumpkin really pop. Glad to see this stamp set get used again. I still have mine, too. The gold matt you did looks fabulous! Nicely done. Into my favs. TFS
