Bridget asks us to make a card that reflects someone who is a hero to us. My inspiration for the card design was a card of Bridget's so this is a CASE of Bridget's card. I made the city bold and bright just like my sister, my hero. We lost her to breast cancer a few years ago, way too young. But she lived every day until the very last, being herself, keeping her sense of humor and worrying about those around her. To this day when we face a tough situation we recall Joanne and her tenacity to inspire us. I know she's looking down on us and looking out for us every day. The little ones called her Aunt JoJo so that's what's in the bottom right. She had brown hair and had little blue cat eye glasses when she was a little girl.
EDIT: Just wanted to come back and add a thought. Although we lost Joanne, I have another sister, Mom and Aunt who are all survivors. And they are in the majority. So while I remember Joanne, I want to give much hope and support to those who are the thick of it right now. That is what this month here is all about.
Thanks for viewing and commenting. I hope you will join us, making a tribute to someone who is a hero to you. Are you playing along with us? If not, you're missing out on the chance to lift the spirits of women battling breast cancer at MD Anderson, and also on prizes from your favorite crafty companies. So what are you waiting for? Go stamp something pretty!

What a fabulous tribute to your dear sister, Kathy. I can only imagine how much you must miss her, I know she has left a big gap in your family and heart. The circular image with the little blue glasses is so darn cute, and I love your layered cityscape! The whole thing has a wonderful retro comic book feel. Thanks so much for making a sample for my challenge and sharing a bit of your heart!

Bridget is right....a real retro feel down to the word bubble that looks like the "biff, bam, pow" bubbles I remember on Batman. Great way to honor your sister!

I was wondering about the 'cat woman', and now I know, Kathy. How sad to lose someone too early in life. I'm so sorry for your loss. This is a wonderful tribute to your sister, so personal~ Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Kathy, I remember when your Sister passed and I still remember all of your family (there was a lot of you, if I remember correctly) What a beautiful tribute to think of your sister this way - she was truly a HERO in every sense of the word. Love this "superhero" card in her honor !

Kathy, I knew this was your card without even seeing your user name. I know how much your sister meant to you and the pain of losing her. But no one can steal those wonderful loving memories. They are yours to keep and treasure. You put so many personal details in this card to honor her.
Kathy your card is so fun! Love the cat eye glasses and JoJo in the fun word bubble. Your description made me teary eyed, including the "Edit". Thanks for sharing with us. ((hugs))
