This is the card I made for IC459 "Kittie Inspired!". I have been a fan of Kittie since I first joined SCS, and have honed several skills thanks to her tutorials. One of those was her poinsettia tutorial, and I chose to use one on my card today. If I had mastered all of Kittie's skills, I would have popped up the frame (that I can do) and the sentiment (that one - not so much!), but to keep from tearing my hair out I opted to place those elements flush to the card and let the poinsettia take the dimensional stage.
The card front was layered with silver polka dot vellum attached with Sookwang tape in the area hidden by the frame. The frame was attached with Sookwang tape also, and the sentiment was glued down using tiny dots of Ranger Multi Medium Matte. I used the same adhesive to attach the poinsettia and small sprigs of silver and vellum "greenery" from a MS punch.
Kittie, thank you for the umpteenth time for sharing your knowledge and skills, your unique talent, and your inspiring work!
As always, thanks for looking!

Your polka-dot vellum is the perfect background for that beautiful poinsettia. I agree with you about her tutorials -- and I have printed out several of them for inspiration. I learned a lot from them, particularly how to fill up spaces with that MS branch punch!

This is gorgeous! WOW, you sure did master her poinsettia and how beautiful it is! The silver polka dots, frame and fantastic die cut sentiment compliment it perfectly! The pearl is the perfect accent. Jody, this is fabulous!

It's always a good thing to keep your hair, Jody! Kittie said she finds it soothing and a stress release to create, but I would find it just the opposite if I had to try making one of her cards! : ) I love your sprigs behind this beautiful poinsettia! Vellum always makes a card look so delicate, and adds such elegance! You did real well~

That red shimmery paper really works well for your poinsettia! And the silver "greenery" looks lovely on this elegant Christmas card. It's easy to see why Kittie is such a fav here on SCS...her designs inspire us every day...love your tribute to her

Love your colors and what a wonderful sentiment die cut! You Poinsettia is creation perfection. I wonder if there is anyone on SCS who hasn't been inspired by Kittie's amazing creations.

Jody, this is gorgeous. I love the silver polka dots paper and your use of silver branches with your beautiful poinsettia. Thank you so much for playing in the challenge. I really appreciate it. Oh....and by the way....I don't think I can pop up that Merry Christmas sentiment either. I've got it but haven't used it yet. : )
