I was delighted and honoured to be asked by Robin to make a sample for her debut as a F4A challenge hostess. You can find her Birds, Birds, Birds challenge by clicking on the link.
Of course I had to use a robin on my card. Actually I think this is just a generic bird but it instantly made me think of the little juvenile robins we get in our garden in the summer. You can see a couple of photos on my blog here : Young Robins . European robins are a totally different species to the North American one; small, quite fearless, very territorial. A few years back we had one that would eat from my hand.
I stamped my little bird and masked him off, then sponged in the grass and some weathered wood for the sky. I misted with a homemade blue mister.
Stamped some foliage stems in the grass, and a whole bunch to make a hedge at the left. They're coloured with pencils and sponged with distress ink. I added spots of Liquid Pearls for tiny flowers, and then made some punched flowers for the stems. The bird is coloured with pencils mostly, and a slight sponging of distress ink. I added a sentiment from ODBD, and some music notes stamped in Stormy Sky.

NICE bird card, Sabrina! Great scribbly bird and other stamps. Like your watercoloring, too. Terrific bkgrd for your sweet scene,. as well. Thx for sharing the pic of the fledgling robin. I never noticed that their breasts weren't orange like an adult.

I do love your little robins and have seen them on trips 'over there'. :-) You have created a lovely little scene for your robin to wander in Sabrina. So many great details. Your bird is a pert little fellow isn't he? Great card for the challenge and to inaugurate Robin's hosting!

Your pictures are awesome Sabrina - thanks for including them. Your card is sweet, sweet, sweet. I love the sketched look of the young robin. That's neat that you got one to eat from your hand. I've seen pictures of hummingbirds eating from people's hands - that would be a dream come true. :>)
