This is my card for the Teapot Party this week. We were challenged to bring bright, happy cards in an effort to cheer Connie - one of our own and sister to Curt's mom, Mutnik. She's had a very tough time lately, and needs 42,000 smiles!
My card isn't funny, but it's super bright and sparkly! the balloons are an outline sticker from ELizabeth Craft Designs. This link takes you to a video tutorial about this technique:
I stamped the word "Sending" with Versafine Onyx Black and heat embossed with clear ep. I cut several clouds from this weird, really cool paper thin white plastic that I had adhered to lightweight cardstock. The plastic is almost shimmery but not really. I rescued it from the trash bin somewhere, I'm sure!
After adhering the clouds, I added the "hugs", which was also given the glitter treatment and layered once for dimension. The balloons were fussy cut and popped on foam tape.I arranged the strings and added a bit of adhesive to the ends to be sure they stayed in place.
As usual with glitter, the picture really doesn't do justice to the balloons. I love the way they turned out and hope Connie does, too!
As always, thanks for looking!

I love the cool way you arranged those balloons and strings! Those are SO fun, Jody and love the happy colors! The cloud paper is wonderful and appears to have a very smooth surface. This will most definitely cheer her up especially with the microfine glitter you colored! The piercing is SO perfect too!

This card is so-o-o interesting with the dies, paper piercing, layout of balloons and strings and on and on. Connie will certainly smile when she receives this beauty.

This is absolutely wonderful, Miss Jody! Your cheery balloons say "Happy" as well as that Pharrell Song, and your big hugs sentiment is perfect. Love that you could repurpose that cool plastic into some shimmery clouds for a backdrop. Connie is going to love this! Thank you so much for coming to her Teaparty. Now pleeeeease grab a pile of those cookies... they are so yummy!!! Hugz fom NJ!
