For IS455 - Color Watercolor. I was inspired by this beautiful site to create a watercolor BG. I misted my WC paper, randomly stamped my flowers on it with Bravo Burgundy and let them run for a few moments, then patted the paper down to stop the action. I then over-stamped the flowers on the damp paper, so that they would be distinct but still a bit loose. Then I inked up my IO Flourish BG stamp with So Saffron and over-stamped the whole thing. The bird was already lying on my desk, I had intended to color him for another project, but for this card I thought it best to leave him as a simple outline. Did my usual tilted layers to frame him out. A scrap of checked DP cut with a rickrack die, aqua twine and a pale green leaf sequin and there you have it.
Thanks for the fun challenge and thanks for looking!

What a superb water coloured background you have created! Beautiful soft effect. You made the right call to leave the bird uncoloured and your little pop of lime green brings the eye right to him. There is a lot to love about this card; including the tilted panels!

Oh, oh, oh - what an adorable bird. They're one of the stamps that I think, in an ideal world unconstrained by budget and storage, one could never have too many of. And that one - well, I'm not sure what it's meant to be and I know that the HA stickers are mostly just uncoloured line-drawings, but I'm telling you it has to be a European robin - appropriately enough for you ;-). Its stance is just so like the ones we have in our garden, curious and unafraid.
I was so glad to see notification pop up of an upload from you, I was on the point of sending you a PM because it felt like a while since I'd seen you creating. I love the combination of the orange flourish with the deep red flowers - and the little leaf sequin which is just so sweet. The checked ric-rac is a totally fun addition, especially with your uncoloured image.

Robin, so glad to see you in the gallery...had been wondering what you've been up to. You have a knack of creating some of the best backgrounds..I love all the overstamping using the flourishes..the mix of the bold flowers with the delicate flourishes in some yummy colors is awesome. The little sequin leaf with the aqua twine is a fab embellie.... really cool! Oh and your checked rick rack is GREAT!

I really love the technique you used here, Robin, with misting the bg - what a LOVELY result! Such fabulous colours and the little bird is perfect left uncoloured in contrast!

Robin, your background is outstanding! Stamping and water for the bleed then stamping again to highlight the flowers produces a spectacular effect! Love that bird stamp too which I have and still haven't used it! It's just adorable. I too agree that the little hint of blue brings attention to your fabulous image! Gorgeous card!

Love the way those flowers look and your bird panel is perfect (I am a tilted panel girl myself - LOL). Beautiful card. Hugz!
