I'd just finished making this card when Jeanne's challenge came up - appropriate for a one/two word challenge as I'd already decided just to put this sweet lady's name on it - our dear 86 year old neighbour lost her husband several months ago and this is her first birthday without him in 56 years. I went down to ask her if I could take her out for tea, and she said "I'm not celebrating my birthday this year." So it didn't seem right to make a "happy" birthday card. Thankfully she agreed to get out of the house, she said it would help "put the time in". This is a departure from the style I've been using lately, back to die-cuts! The name has been computer generated.

What a lovely card for your special neighbor, Bridget...and you are so sensitive to her feelings. Hope you have a lovely time at tea...and it is so caring of you to "get her out of the house"...and enjoying life.

Oh, this card is gorgeous! It has such a beautiful vintage vibe to it - your neighbor will love it. Your kind, thoughtful, caring ways are truly needed in this world and they will mean the world to your neighbor. TYFS. Karen.

The perfect card for a recent widow. It is perky but not too perky, vintage but not too vintage, subtle but not too subtle. You have not only an artistic side but a compassionate one as well.

I love this card Bridget!! I don't know if it's the colors, the lace, is it a bit vintage?? Maybe it's just that I can feel your love behind it. You are a very sweet person, and I'm sure you made this ladies' birthday more special. :>)

This is really lovely, Bridget, as is your care for your neighbor. I love the paper pieced dress and the colors you combined. Adding your friend's name is perfect.
