This is for the CAS286 challenge to use stencils and the CT0814 monthely theme " am I babbling". I used 2 stencils...an old Rosie's road show cloud stencil and a TH layering burlap stencil. The ENTIRE IMAGE IS COLORED WITH COPICS - woo hoo. I decided to stop whining, step out of my comfort zone (prisma pencils with gamisol), and just practice with copics. I discovered the main thing you need for copics...patience, and my patience is at the station waiting for the next train out of town. Thank heaven this is a small image. For the fan club theme - babbling- I have to add a short story. When I was 10, I got Mac, my stubborn parakeet. I was determined to teach him to talk and I sat in the kitchen by his cage every night repeating hundreds of times (how's that for babbling), "Hi, Francie". How cool is that to enter the room and have your bird greet you by name? Each night after about a half hour, my dad would come in with my little dog - who was a much quicker learner than the bird- and dad would say "bedtime Terry", and my dog would curl up in her bed and go to sleep. Dolly, my adorable old insomniac dog could learn something here. I would give up and go to bed only to repeat the same scene the next night. Well, finally, after what seemed an eternity, Mac spoke. He puffed up his green feathers, fluttered his wings, stared me straight in the eye, and I swear he grinned and said....."bedtime Terry". Drove my dog nuts for the next four years. TFL, Francie

Your stencils look great and the image is adorable. Fun story about your "babbling" parakeet. Well, maybe not babbling but you did get him to speak.

What a delightful image beautifully coloured, Francie. It's just as well I don't think I can afford Copics because I know darned well I wouldn't have the patience - or the time - to learn to use them well.
I liked your write-up too .
And the image makes me smile because it reminds me of the magical moment a few years ago when one of our garden robins ate from my hands a few times.

Such a cute card! The stenciled back ground is great and it seems you had just enough patience left to get this focal beautifully colored. Your parakeet story is so funny! We had a friend who's last name is Stone and the parakeet was Chris. She taught Chris to say his name "Chris Stone". Just before Christmas she decided to teach him to say Merry Christmas. All she ever got from him was "Merry Chris Stone".

That is absolutely hilarious.....hahahaha!! Sounds like a story a stand-up comic would tell! Congrats on the Copics! I don't have the patience either. It must be with yours. Your card is just too sweet!! TFS!
