Today's FS is MattsGirl, Katie. Congratulations! It was just last week that I caught up with you as Queen! This time I chose your beautifully colored Red Tulips as inspiration. I changed everything except the tulip theme.
Why did I decide to fussy cut them out - that took longer than to make the whole card! My coloring isn't nearly as good as yours, but I'm just learning how to use these pens. I sometimes want to throw them across the room!
I sponged the background with the mini cubist stencil, using more ink in some areas. I made my own banner & added a button to tie it all together. I have a cuttlebug die that has several words on it & thought that would make a good sentiment. I got a few more Dirty challenges in again. It was kind of easy to work several in, but I gave this a 2 for my labored coloring!
Thanks for stopping by.

I love tulips!! This is a great image and the perfect one to practice the alcohol markers. I think you are doing a great job. They are intimidating; mine sat on the table for several months before I tackled them. Thanks for sharing you work with us.

I love your multicolored tulips, Karen! I think you are doing a fabulous job with your alcohol markers! I know they take a bit of time to get used to using a different medium, but goodness....if you just started and your image looks this amazing, you are doing just fine! Hmmm, fighting the urge to throw them, huh? I have a SCS buddy (Blooms in a Box) that is famous for doing just that....lol! ;) Your stenciled background looks fabulous....I have got to get me some stencils! OH, I can also feel your pain about the fussy cutting....I usually ask myself the same question about half way through, but your results are so worth all of that extra work! Thank you so much for your kind words, for honoring me with a CASE, and for being a part of this special day!

The first beautiful colors of spring bring a smile to our faces. Adding the stencil to your background was a lovely way to add another layer of interest. And, believe it or not I love to fussy cut - it actually relaxes me. *laughing* This is not only a beautiful card for my DTGD Challenge I can't think of a better way to honor our sweet FS Katie Sims.

Oh, what gorgeous tulips, Karen, and I love the way you've partially stenciled so lightly - a perfect bg. Wonderful die-cut sentiment too! Thanks so much for playing along in the DTGD challenges, I hope you've had fun!

Beautiful card to honor Katie, Karen. Your container filled with various colored tulips is lovely(love that old PSX image) and beautifully colored. The soft stenciled bg adds depth to your card with the way you have done it.
