When I saw today's Sketch Challenge SC499 (7/30/14), I was inspired to finally use a scrap from a beach calendar that had been lingering on my stamp table for way too long.
My source of inspiration for this card came from a card made by Barbara Anders, who is on the design team for MFT. Here's her gorgeous card: http://barspaperpursuits.blogspot.co...owc4c-238.html
Totally wonderful card that I just had to mimic...another word for CASE! Thank you, Barbara, for sharing your talent.
I used the cheesecloth in place of one of the panels in the sketch. The hardest part of this whole card was getting the cheese cloth adhered to the back of the beach scene without sticking to my fingers. It was like working with a spiders web, minus the spider! I dyed the cheesecloth with reinker, diluted with water, scrunched it up and dried it with a heat gun. I had forgotten how fun it is to dye with reinkers...must do more of this!
Thanks for taking a gander at my interpretation of a lazy day at the beach. Surf's up!

I see we were of like mind with a wood background and beach scene. VERY different ways to get there. Love this especially the great texture you introduce with the cheesecloth and tiny shells.

I could definitely stand having a lazy day at this beach! Great reuse of a calendar and I am lovin' those seashells! Terrific card! BTW the cheesecloth looks great!
