Now THIS is a vacation scene, lol! Growing up, I guess everyday was pretty close to a vacation since I grew up in a beach town & our house was a block from the bay front. We had 4 humongous palm trees in our front yard (well until 1 bad hurricane..then there were 3). And for the CT, I used some of my fave tools: my trusty sponges & new fave, matting basics dies.
I used a combination of sponging & Copic markers for the colors. After stamping the tree & the little sun/cloud image, I sponged on some hot sunset colors above the horizon & some water colors below. Normally, I would mask the tree & horizon, but I didnÂ’t feel like cutting out a mask for the palm tree, so I sponged very close to the tree then filled in any white areas w/ Copics. I used a white gel pen to add some highlights & a piercing mat & tool to make two rows of holes around the lower section, then used some yellow/orange twine to stitch the two layers together. I did divide the 4 strands of twine and only used 2 strands to stitch.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups & the colors of Copics are on my blog: The Write Stuff

Absolutely Stunning.
