This is my card for the CAS279 challenge "Sunsets" - a great challenge from Lori this week. while not strictly CAS, there's lots of wide open sky here, so I'm going with it!
Simple watercolor wash background using shimmer watercolors. I colored the stamp with Distress marker in Vintage Photo and about three colors of green. Those of you familiar with this stamp know there are two tiny deer standing in the meadow; I ended up with a deer and what must be a very pregnant cow! Geez! I was pretty sick about it because this card is for a co-worker's birthday today, and the rest of the image looked so good. SO I covered it up!
The alert deer was cut four times, layered for dimension and attached directly to the scene; the grazing deer was cut twice, layered, and adhered with foam tape. And you guessed it, I messed up the sentiment - not once but twice, so I had to cover it up, too. Doesn't look too bad, although definitely not what I would have preferred... And since the birthday boy bow hunts, I thought the arrows would be appropriate.
As always, thanks so much for looking. I'll be back after work to comment.

This turned out great in the end. I love the streakiness in the purple sky and these deer silhouettes are one of my favorite images. I wish I had used them now.

What a pretty sky! This is such a perfect masculine card and the arrows for the hunter look great! I love the way the bottom deer seems to be investigating the sentiment!

I LOVE it with the die cut deer! They add so much to this scene, Jody. I rolled with laughter on the pregnant cow. I hate when that happens (grin). You really are a master of cover ups, something I need to improve on. I do love these colors!
