Hello dear friends! Thank you for those who have been asking. I have been doing pretty good! Two of my best girlfriends each came to visit for a bout a week, one in May and the other in June and that sure did lift my spirits!
I have not been making many cards....and when I made this one I got completely confused! I ended up combining this week's teaparty with last week's teaparty! Sheesh! LOL But I wrote on the inside for it to go to Susan. Maybe I can make another card for this week.
The song Downeaster Alexa is about the fishermen in Oyster Bay, Long Island. Downeaster is the style of lobster fishing boat and in the song, is named for his real daughter, Alexa. If you listen to the song, it sounds like sea gulls in the background! Anyway, I added some words of encouragement and will get this in the mail tomorrow.
The technique for the background is adding the ink pads to the acrylic block then misting with water (or in my case alcohol) and pressing the paper onto the ink. I just can't think of the name of the technique! LOL I am sure many of you know right off the top of your pretty heads! Hope you are doing well and thank you for checking out my card!

It's so good to see you here Kathleen and in good spirits as well. This is a beautiful card and the background makes me think of ocean spray. Glad you had some cheery company as well. there's nothing like good friends.

I am so happy to see your card in the gallery...I have been hoping that you would be feeling well enough to get a little "inky". And what a grand reentrance with such a pretty card. Your coloring on the shells is fantastic and the seagul looks great. Beautiful card.
