After taking the watercolor class I thought the least I could do was try it. After spending an evening trying to color this I decided to try my hand at splatter. Needless to say it hit the trash. I will definitely need work on splatter. The next morning I retrieved it and took colored pencils to it. Well, it's not a Picasso but it's passable. Thanks for stopping by

Nancy, this is very lovely! The shading is beautiful! And I love your layering and, of course, the stitching. Definitely keep up with the watercoloring!

Oh my gosh, this is so beautiful Nancy!! I don't know what you are expecting from yourself, but I think it's already there. I love the rose and your bg papers are so nice too. Great job distressing too - I always feel I can't do that well. :>)

Wow Lady! You have created one gorgeous bloom here! I don't know what you are seeing that you don't care for but it's not obvious to me that's for sure. :-) I really love the way you have built your layers up behind the rose. The distressed edges, water coloured papers, beautiful stitching and pearls support your focal point fabulously!

Are you kidding ... this is gorgeous!! You did an amazing job of coloring that rose - wow! The splatters look great ... and so does your layers of background washes. The thread and pearls are perfect embellies! Great job with the class. I have yet to be able to "paint" an image ... mind you I only tried once and haven't gotten back to it

Perhaps you are just being too critical of your own work? Because this card is BEAUTIFUL! I'm glad you retrieved it from the trash so I can put it in my faves!
