This lovely image of a soldier and his sweetheart is sad, but it captures the sense of pride our soldiers feel - when we must part and say 'farewell'.
The sentiment was taken from the same vintage card that I found at a thrift store. I cut out the parts I wanted to use for die-cuts, sponged, layered and placed them.
The Sentiment reads:
"As a lover, he bade farewell to his sweetheart for the sake of the Red, White and Blue, and went forth to take his part when the proper time was due"....

This is SOOOOOO neat. Just LOVE your antique look. A super way to reuse that old card you found. Never thought of going to somewhere like that for vintage cards...Beautifully done. I just can't imagine how it was. we have no idea and are so lucky, because of these heroes...TFS..:0)

What wonderful layering on this to create a card totally in keeping with the vintage image. I really like the star and banner combination, too, for your sentiment.
