The Queen for the Day honors Kathy (Muscrat) this week. Kathy has a lovely gallery of cards so I hope you'll give her a visit this week and wish her congratulations. I chose to take my inspiration today from HYCCT1304 Hope flies by muscrat at Splitcoaststampers called Hope Flies.
My husband created a violin template for me using Abode Illustrator CS6. I cut it out of PaperSource's Blossom cardstock and began to embellish with the items listed above. I also used Grace's Frame from Cuttlebug for my background panel. The only thing I wish I had done was emboss the body of the violin or maybe stamped a background design - next time (she smiles) I changed my layout completely but kept the flight of butterflies.
Today I needed to create something pure, lovely, innocent. My heart is aching for the Sauer family, whose little boy, Ben, went to heaven on Tuesday night. He was laid to rest today. Barely 5 years old, Ben succumbed to a very aggressive brain cancer. He passed away at home.
How do parents come to terms with this? Ben's mother created a blog for Ben and wrote nearly every day. The hearts that were changed by this family's sorrow, and their courage to share their son's story will be heaven's reward. Ben's parents had faith in the gift of eternal life through Christ Jesus.
My flight of butterflies, and the music of heaven are symbolic of Ben's homecoming.
Thankful for God's mercy.

Love how you added the violin underneath the butterflies! Praying for that family's loss. So thankful they are believers and they can know where Ben's new home is!

Thank you for sharing the story behind the card - sad, because of the loss for the family, yet joyful in the assurance of eternal life.
I cannot express what a lovely card this is - what a fantastic violin - made more beautiful by the butterflies.

Oh Susie, what a beautiful card created in the memory of sweet Ben,thank you for sharing his story. I am so impressed with your husbands ability to create this beautiful violin and your enhancement of it is just amazing! You have used one of my favorite EF's and it is a lovely back ground for this card that was clearly made with much love and caring. I am so glad it was favorited so I did not miss this awesome creation!
