Thanks Audrie and Sallie for today's site..I had fun picking out an inspiration piece. I went with this mat . I stamped the trailer and chair and clear embossed, then used artisan inks and distress inks to color them. The sun and grass are my own hand carved stamps. The bg is colored with watered down distress stains and the Red Lead inks. I used my sewing machine to pierce the edge (no thread) and also sew a bit of a zigzag strip on the grass. The sentiment ala Willie Nelson is computer generated. Thanks for looking!

I'm afraid I'm so fed up with the splashscreen I get each time I go to the IC site that I won't actually check your inspiration. But I love what you created. I love the bright, happy summer scene - and especially the zig-zag stitching. I'm always too lazy to pull my machine out for just piercing, LOL - but obviously I should overcome that laziness because it looks great.

This is a beautiful example of the Polly school of card-crafting. Note the vibrant colors, whimsically constructed scene and unexpected but highly effective use of text as a background material. This piece is especially notable for its wonderful hand-carved stamps as well as the lovely torn layering and charming twine-and-button embellishment at the right hand edge. The use of a sewing machine to create pierced lines around the focal image is a clever touch and adds to the overall tongue-in-cheek, rustic feel of the whole. The sentiment, set in a vintage typewriter font and placed on its side, adds yet another layer of humor and whimsy.

Polly, this is just awesome. Love how you stamped your images over the "camp" definition. How clever. Love that sentiment. Fun card and great take on your inspired piece.
