I'm not sure how to link, so I apologize for not including the link to the challenge. This was made for the Clean & Simple on Sunday sketch challenge #33 over at the cleanandsimpleonsunday blog.
I chose to make a Father's Day card do I wouldn't feel rushed like I did with Mother's Day this year. It's a very personal card made just for my dad. When I think of my dad, photography and cameras are the first thing that come to mind. When I was young I remember not being able to use our downstairs bathroom most of the time because it was his darkroom. He worked for Eastman Kodak, oddly enough as a copy repair man, not so much in the area he had and still has a passion for, which is photography. He was always taking pictures, we had rolls of film in our freezer, and black & who to photographs that had been developed on his darkroom were everywhere. I have combined the camera with the tones of black & white photos for a very personal card made just for him.
The finished size is 3 1/2" x 5". Everything on the card is Stampin' Up. I added a piece cut from basic black to the envelope using a filmstrip border punch, which is not SU, since they offer no such punch. Card is SUO.
On that note, I found a huge bonus with the punch I just mentioned. Instant confetti! Unlike the framelits single filmstrip, the little squares come out neat and tidy with no marks from cutting pads. I'm bagging these in cello bags by color as the punch gets used. It looks like confetti is going to be in this year, and I'm certainly not turning usable card stock into it, so this discovery has made my day. Thanks for looking!
