Well, I am late as usual for both of these challenges. Its a pretty big deal for me to actually combine two! This is for the color challenge to use Pool Party, Black and White, and the honoring of Arizona Maine.(Angela) I have been working off and on this week on this tribute to Angela. I saved a whole page of her beauties in my computer to look over and try to decide which one I wanted to case. I am a HUGE fan of hers and I love everything she does so it was hard to choose. I finally settled on this lovely card! QFTD121 merci beaucoup by Arizona Maine at Splitcoaststampers
I used different colors and three instead of two.
I used different flowers and leaves.
I used a similar but different EF.
I used a different thank you sentiment and stamped it twice.
I added half pearls (because I don't know when to quit!
It is the same layout and design. I started out with a larger size because the EF is a 5x7 one and to capture its full beauty my card needed to be larger. This was a three time redo... I kept getting HUGE black smudges on the embossed part that I just couldn't cover up with ANYTHING! (Bad words, bad words!) I added Ebony micro beads to the centers of my flowers that I just had to have about a year ago and have never used until now. This EF is one Wendy Bell used a long time ago and it was another thing I just had to have and I went on quite a quest to find it and buy it. (Another one of my very first EF) I think I made one card with it. I tried to shadow the sentiment with the Pool Party but I kind of think the effect will just make you all think you need glasses...has a blurry look to it. Oh well... It is also from Michaels in the day when they had $1 stamps. My EF didn't have a built in frame so I had to make one, gluing that puppy down three times (because of my re-do's) accurately was certainly a test of patience.I cut the aperture with a Spellbinder after I embossed the frame and then I made the frame to go over it. I offset the Marianne Design leaves with both colors because neither color looked good on its own!
This is also a thank you card for a very special friend who did a very lovely thing for me this week. It will accompany a box of gift cards I am making for her.
Thank you for taking the time to look! It is much appreciated....After reading the above details, one would say...no wonder it takes her so long to make a card! :-)

It was SO worth the effort, Peggy! WOW! And you didn't like the shadow of the Thank You, something that I KNOW I would not have succeed with so perfectly! What a beautiful card to send someone who deserves it!

What a lovely card and wonderful tribute to Angela! I love those black flowers with the pool party accents! The framing looks fabulous and was well worth the effort (says I who did not have to actually do anything) :-) Beautiful card!

Peggy, you shouldn't be making me chuckle with delight when you can create something so exquisite! I am an absolute fan of your work and to have you case something of mine is an honor. Your card is out-of-this-world gorgeous and your friend must be equally as fabulous to be the lucky recipient. Thank you Peggy!

Smudges.....ooh, that cause so much trouble, don't they? In the end, your card is beautiful and I noticed the shadows immediately on your sentiment and think they are super. Gorgeous flowers and embossing.

Peggy, this is wonderful! A case made your very own, in your own special way! I love the frame edging the aperture and your double sentiment does not look blurred - it looks great! A really beautiful card.

What a spectacular card! Absolutely worth the time it took, especially as a thank you for a very special favor. I love everything about this card, including the pearls.
