This is for MIX66 - Things That Fly. To make the BG, I stamped the Roses Cover A Card in Rose Coral on Melon Berry CS (i know, hard to see). I then stamped the Music stamp on VV, tore one edge and glued it down. I mixed acrylic paint to get a shade slightly lighter than my CS and stenciled it on an angle over part of the BG. Then I had to go take a nap.
The rest is pretty obvious. Color bird, die cut Nesties for frame, die cut tag, Versamark tag with text and then stamp butterfly over it and then put the whole focal image together. Glued down Checkered BG DP, then my mixed media BG, then focal image popped up. As usual, everything that could be tilted, is.
Thanks for looking!

Oh my Robin this is another winner! Your bg is fab..always love musical scores and torn edges and that hint of check as the bottom layer is wonderful (i've done that a few times and love how it looks..I think I used an old book page). Your bird has a fabulous resting place on that lovely dp and the tiny tag..great accent...no detail too small..Oh and I'm with you on the nap...they are vital to creativity

Robin, this is fantastic and thanks for describing your process! I never thought to use paint with a stencil and after seeing yours I definitely have to try it! The torn music and checked border look awesome with your bird and fancy frame!

I've always loved fleur de lis, and I particularly like the angular look of your stencilled ones. The bird is wonderful, too - reminds me of old nature books. And I totally love the fine checked base layer - I'm glad you're having fun with your DP!
