Hey when I saw the challenge was to use wood I HAD to join, I mean I love blingage but wood is my second runner up I think...yah....maybe its the country girl thingy...;0).
I thought I would add another Christmas card to my collection...like a couple a month goal.
As I am uploading this tho I noticed I am slipping....NO GLITTER...yikes...I am slipping...lol
This was quite simple once I found the wood paper I wanted to use and a brown paper that kinda matched for my shelf. I just fussy cut the bears and stockings from one dp and the holly and presents from Mary and Co. first. then I made my shelf by using my border punch for the bottom punch and added a touch longer strip for over top of that.
I used the brads to " Hang " the stockings and thought I wanted to help make it a touch more 3d so I thought I would try my new white pen and add "fake snow or frost " . for the little picture I just printed the Merry christmas off the computer notepad so it was small enough and used a small rec. die-cut, sponged the inside with touch of moss and dark brown for the frame outside part. I then put it all togehter and raised the stockings, presents, picture and top layer of shelf with foam. Was so fun to make...well gotta love teddies...thanks for the visit, come on in and will make cocoa...well, being so nice out...maybe a glass of cold chocolate milk,....he-he...HUGS

Adorable Christmas card with the charming mantel scene, Wendy. Love the little stockings and cute bears. You can always add glitter if you think it needs it, but I think it is great how it is......with a great country look.

This is just so darn cute - love it! Fantastic Christmas scene, so muc detail with the bears and stockings (and so much -ugh!- fussy cutting). The bright colors look terrific against the dark shelf and rustic wall and that tiny sentiment "picture" is perfect!
