Well, Janette, you brought us another interesting sketch today and I immediately thought of this cup and saucer I spied in my junk mail recently. I cut it out of the postcard it was printed on and threw it on the studio table...don't you think it plays a huge part of your sketch pieces?
I think I spent more time digging out the very old Marah Johnson wonderful coffee themed dp than crafting the whole card. It was buried, ugh, filed in a unit at the very back of my studio. I used it way back in February 2008 Kaffe clutch for a Beate challenge. You can see the elements much better there.
For today, I stamped the CHF rice paper bg image onto the SU summer sun to tone down the color (TH di Scattered Straw). Placed real doily on the left edge adding a strip of German scrap over the top in a rusted copper and on the other side a scalloped black scrap. The cup is cut from the saucer and popped on foam squares. The sentiment is stamped directly in the macchiato...my FAV espresso libation.
I am going to tuck this into the paper tomorrow morning for my DH. Our 27 year tradition is reading the newspaper slow and leisurely every morning along with the said espressos.
Thank you for your comments...I'll be back to see where the sketch took you today!

Omgoodness Susan! This is the perfect image... that spoon fulfilling the horizontal panel, and it's soooo yummy looking too! I love your morning tradition! We're barely functional when my hubby leaves!

This is a cute little love note that will be a nice surprise for your hubby! I like how your eyes are always seeking good graphics for your awesome designed cards. Without a doubt, you turn them into messages of love.

You are one clever woman and very thrifty too. Yes, you chose and image that works perfect with today's sketch. I like your style. Course I like lattes too!

I Love this! Great idea to recycle the coffee cup, Susan! Hubby should get a kick out of this tomorrow! Oh, my oldest son's favorite drink at Starbucks is An Upside Down Caramel Macchiato~
