How excitingÂ…the 300th Teaparty and a wonderful story to celebrate this grand occasion by Sandy aka stampingwriter. Sandy has just informed us that dear great aunt Mabel Potter (103 year old spinster on great great great uncle TomÂ’s side of the family) has left us Teapotters a big empty room in the Potter family mansion. This humongous occasion has become even more important as our cards are going to each other!!!
Here we have Dulcie, Shirley, Betty and Wilma in their pjÂ’s laughing about their painting skills. In their efforts to brighten up the Teapotter room they literally threw paint on the wallsÂ…floorÂ…ceilingÂ…curtainsÂ….you get the drift. Smiling down at them is great aunt Mildred Potter and here twin sister Pearl.
The painting skills of Dulcie, Shirley, Betty and Wilma brought back memories of my own painting experience some 20 years ago. I was painting the ceiling when I started to fall from the ladder, I instinctively grabbed the first thingÂ…a light globe. The globe broke and half of it lodged in my armpit. I couldnÂ’t put my arm down without causing more damage (or pain) so I drove to the hospital with my arm sticking out of the window of the car. Walking through the hospital carpark and into ER was one of the most bizarre experiences I have ever had. Enough about me, back to the card.
My colouring skills still resemble that of a three year old, hence the girls and couch are paper pieced. I used acetate on the window and picture frames; there is a tree and rickety fence behind the window.
I had so much fun making this card knowing it was going to tickle another Teapotter. Thank you to Sabrina, Sheri and all the other ladies behind the scene that make this weekly challenge possible.
Edited: Fixed photo thanks to Sabrina.

FABTASTIC card, Susie! LOVE your paper-pieced, FUN ladies and their paint job is one-of-a-kind! Speaking of which ... holy moley, a lightbulb stuck in your armpit? Can't imagine how that hurt?! And ... I'm sure the staff and waiting room patrons were so shocked that they didn't know whether to gasp or giggle? OUCH! You do realize that you could write a best seller, correct? OH YAH, for sure! I'll have to think of a clever title and let you know later. Hee!

Oh Susie, this is wonderful. These ladies look like they are having the time of their lives doing DIY, and we certainly want the Teapotters Lounge to be a happy place.
I always love your cards, but after doing a stairstep myself for this one, I am totally in awe of the work you put into them. Mine is just a little still-life, while yours are always so incredibly vibrant and full of life. It's a gift you have, for sure.
I'm kind of glad to hear that not all your disasters are stamping related because if they were you might give up stamping, and that would be such a loss for the rest of us.

Ouch and ouch again! I've had a couple of accidents in my time, but nothing in your league, I'm happy to say!!! Fabulous piecing, love the pictures on the wall, and oh my, you've certainly captured the feel of an old building in need of some restoration and TLC.
p.s - if there's any chance of editing the picture and replacing it with a larger one, I'd love to see the detail better ;-). It looks as if you uploaded a tiny image, only about 250 pixels. But when I blow it up I can just see a lovely fence in the garden!
