This is my card for the IC 438 challenge to be inspired by the website The Grommet. What a cool site - who knew all those things existed? I chose this as my inspiration (the second picture):
I just got the vase dies this week and this was a great excuse to play with them, as well as the stencil that came in the same order. Meant to be, right?
I applied pearl modeling cream through the stencil onto a piece of metallic cs and cut the zinnias from heavy white cs while waiting for it to dry so I could die cut it. The pieces stayed in the outline which really made it easy for me to color with Copics. I didn't have a color bright enough for what I wanted, so in the end I scribbled bright orange Sharpie over the blooms. Kind of disguised all that fancy shading (LOL) I tried to do with the Copics, but I love how vibrant they are! I cut them apart, trimmed the stems and glued them to the back of the vase.
The words on the sentiment stamp were on a long line; since it didn't fit my space I cut them apart and stamped using VersaFine Onyx Black. I put foam tape on the back of the two flowers closest to the front, and the vase, and snail on the tallest flower. The arrangement was adhered to the card base, and a few sequins added for interest.
As always, thanks for looking!

This is gorgeous. I can't believe you got your Zinnias to look like that with an orange Sharpie for crying out loud.....lol.....I struggle so much with colouring. Your Copic shading shows through perfectly.
Your fussy cutting is beautiful too. This is just the kind of card I'm into lately.....and I love yours. Thanks for the inspiration.
