This is my card for the MIX 64 challenge "April Showers" - to Mist, Splash, Spray, or Squirt your project ... create puddles if you dare! Also for the CAS269 challenge "Feathered Tones" - to use ate least three colors from am absolutely gorgeous palette of lilac and lavender shades with light blue and green.
I started by stamping the IO Music background with Kraft ink, drying it with my heat tool and then stamping and heat embossing the dahlia. I applied water liberally to the dahlia (yes, there were puddles) using clean water and a clean brush. I loaded up the brush with shimmery watercolor and painted the dahlia. There is only one color applied, the water deposited the paint where it wanted it. When that dried I painted the rest of the image layer with blue shimmer and set it aside to dry.
Next Distress Picket Fence was applied with the dauber top in light streaks that I brushed over with a wet brush. I applied another layer in the area I wanted for the sentiment and sanded it smooth when dry.
I stamped the sentiment once with Colorbox Raw Silk metallic ink, and then again (slightly offset) in the GKD Kraft, although my prepared area wasn't quite wide enough so the sentiment is darker on the left edge.
I really love how this turned out!
As always, thanks for looking!

Gorgeous, Jody Lynn! Your dahlia turned out beautifully, as did the complete card.
