What a super color combo for todayÂ’s Color Challenge! Love these bright, high contrast colors! The red & orange remind me of poppies, so thatÂ’s the direction I went. I spent most of my time fiddling with backgroundÂ…the rest was quick & easy.
On the background, I started by using a large water color brush & a couple of red & orange reinkers. I also splattered a bit using the brush. Then I took a couple of stencils & sponged on some real red thru the stencils. I die cut the poppies & the little squares out of this. The greeting was stamped in a combo of the two blue inks. For dessert, I donÂ’t have any little enamel dots, but I did find these sort of metallic ones. They werenÂ’t quite blue enough, so I added a little more blue w/ a Copic marker.
Thanks so much for looking! Closeups are on my blog: The Write Stuff
