This is for FS375 and Sandy aka stampwithsandy is our featured artist today. Sandy you have a lovely gallery and I thoroughly enjoying browsing this morning. My project was inspired by Sandy's Best of Flowers Get Well card found here: Best of Flowers Get Well by stampwithsandy at Splitcoaststampers
I kept Sandy's hydrangea theme and fairly simple layout. I changed the color combination and used die cuts for my hydrangea instead of a stamped image. I thought the quatrefoil background mimicked the pattern of the designer paper Sandy used.
I used the negative cut outs from the quatrefoil die to create the hydrangea blossoms. I cut them using vanilla paper and color washed them with water and spun sugar reinker. I ran the whole background paper under water and then lightly spread reinker on it to create a perfect match for the hydrangea. I color washed the leaves and stem with water and shabby shutters reinker. If you would like to see step by step photos of how I color washed my project you can check out my Color Wash Tutorial here: http://www.kittiekraft.com/color-wash-flowers.html

Wow, I am totally impressed with how you created your hydrangea blossom. So very clever using the negative parts of the background die to create your beautiful petals. The color wash you used made the flower so very real. Fabulous card!
