This is my card for this weekÂ’s CC473. Vicki is our hostess and she chose Pool Party, So Saffron and Sahara Sand with a dessert option of making an Easter card.
I started my card by sponging the background in a sunshine pattern with wild honey distressed ink on white cardstock.
I followed this tutorial by Gina K. But basically I used a scrap piece of cardstock and sponged along the edge and kept moving the cardstock until I covered my background and achieved the sunburst look.
My crosses are Sweet ‘n Sassy die and I cut those in soft suede (my other neutral this week) and then used a TH ef to add some texture. I used a PTI die for my hill and I cut that In soft sued dsp. Clouds are from an MFT die and the stamped sentiment is from Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps.
I used a Memory Box “wildflower die” for the flowers around the crosses. I cut with Sahara Sand dsp and then cut again with pool party dsp.
ThatÂ’s my card for this week. Hope you can play along with us. You may be our next CC fave of the week and be featured on our Pinterest Color Challenge Board. See the board here.

Beautiful Easter card which shows the true meaning of Easter, Mary. Love how you did the sun rays...most effective. Wonderful use of various die cuts to create your Golgotha scene.

Wonderful card! The sunbeams turned out beautifully, and I love how you decorated the hillside with flowers. A joyful card for a most joyous celebration!

Very nice religious scene, Mary! Love the sun rays and all of your design details look great. Thanks for the link to the tutorial. Sadly, a while back, I messed up the sandwich on my sun rays PTI die and it got bent. It now embosses very faint so I can no longer use it. I watched the video and joined the site. I hope to try it out on my Teapotter card today or tomorrow.

Mary, your card so so well thought out and the results prove it! Your sponged sun rays are perfect. Chicks and bunnies are cute but I love to see the cross and empty tomb!
