I wanted to try out today's technique which intrigued me when Dina first uploaded the tutorial. I also had the reverse of the die cut I used in my last card and thought it would make a good bg (when I know I like the reverses of dies, I leave enough room around them to use them otherwise I like to save paper by placing them as close to the edge as possible). I had a white piece of paper from the package of the black and used that for my embossing-such a simple technique of gluing two pieces together and embossing them in an all over ef such as the Square Lattice that I used here. My pierced piece features an old two step stamp-I stamped the part with the lines on the back of my punched piece then used my pin to form the outline. I scribbled my markers on a piece of acetate and then wet a brush and painted in the rose and leaves. I also pierced around the edge of the label. I popped this with dimensionals over a ribbon and tied a couple of bows.

I love it when a challenge nudges me into doing something that's been on my to-do list - sometimes for months or even longer! I'm glad it worked that way for you today, Gail. And your background is wonderful. I'm on the frugal side too, I rarely even think to cut a die with more space in case I want to use the negative. Your little rose panel is sweet and soft - I like the contrast with the striking dramatic background.
Sorry about your camera - I'm sure that's not going to be a cheap fix :-(.

I really like the background you've set your pretty little rose on. I need to remember to save the negative from some of my die-cuts so I can use them in this way. Very nice card!
