Sabrina gave us a fun challenge to use buttons. I chose to use one of my very first border punches - needles and buttons.
I lightly scrapped gesso over the papers, after it dried I used a paper piercer and a wierd ruler that has tiny evenly spaced holes in it make faux stitching holes. I then slowly used a light brown micron pen to make faux stitches.
I roughed up the edges with a distressing tool before adhering it to cream coloured cardstock.
Thank you for looking.

I've never seen that border punch - I love it! This is a fabulously vintage/shabby chic creation, and the skeleton leaf is the perfect finishing touch...

Ohh! Ohh! Ohh! My heart is in my throat. This is awesome. I love the color of the entire card. I love the stitching, and the lace, and the "lace look" and the background is awesome. You know I just about pitched an entire package of those shear leaves. You have given them a new lease on life. This is beautiful!

I had to stop back at this one for sure! Since I love grunge, I haven't used it and lost my touch for it! I am still enthralled by your elements like the gorgeous leaf(?) and lace!

Weird ruler? Not a Tim Holtz one? He has one with holes designed for piercing, but I must admit that while it's my everyday ruler, I prefer Magic Mesh for my piercing template. Susie, this is a shabby chic beauty. I love the decorative dress form paired with the skeleton leaf (I had mine out to try to use on my card, but I can tell you they didn't look this good, maybe 'cos my tissue background paper was too strong compared with your distressed background), and the lace and flower. And what fun buttons you brought along - that punched border is totally brilliant.
