I said to Brenda yesterday that I would put an "X marks the spot" on an hour this afternoon to make a card for her fun Mapping It Out VSN challenge.
I did also put an X marks the spot on an hour's nap in the afternoon, but I still managed to make this.
It's one of those cards I swore I wouldn't make again, I can't imagine what I'll use it for. But I loved how it came together, and DH likes it so it's not all bad.
Kraft base stamped with Hardwood in white and embossed with white EP.
RubberStamp Avenue chart stamped, cut out and coloured with pencils. Not sure if you can see it - there's a glint of Stickles treasure glinting in the treasure chest.
Boat has the sea and clouds (weather!) sponged in while in the die. I added some Liquid Appliglue for the puffs of smoke coming from the cannon.
Little pirate chick coloured with pencils, background sponged.
Snaps in the corners, an embossed sentiment and a little pennant banner as a nod to the symbols on weather charts.
Thanks, Brenda. I use my IO Cover-A-Card map so often, it was fun to challenge myself to use one of my other map stamps.

Sabrina, this is awesome! Or as a pirate might say, "Aarrrrgh-some"... Love the weathered wood bg, and the pennants look like the cold front symbol on a weather map. Great fun card.

Oh, this is so cute! I know a little boy would love to get this for a birthday card! Good job! I never thought of the string banner for the cold front! You did good! tfs
