I admit it; I'm obsessed with this week's sketch! I'm on a mission to use my older stamp sets this year and am always looking to use things I've already created-die cuts, prints, stamped items. So, when I saw today's ways to use it challenge was to go green I started by grabbing my gelatin plate print and went from there. I had already stamped the leaves so I fussy cut them then added the more yellow-toned greens to them-these take the place of the circles in the sketch which I flipped upside down. I used Old Olive wide ribbon making a cheater's bow. For my sentiment I wanted to emboss since the bg was so busy, but didn't have any green ep. So, I inked up my stamp first with versamark then Gumball Green and embossed in clear. I sponged over it a bit to try to get it to show up better....I may end up layering a sentiment strip over it since it doesn't show up as well as I would like.
This will go to a friend who sent some encouragement my way the other day. My mom's breast cancer has taken another bad turn with metastases now in her lungs. My friend who just saw her FIL end his cancer journey sent some helpful words my way. That, combined with word from the oncologist that there is much more treatment available to my mom, has helped to restore my hope!
