This card was made for the Sketch Challenge 93/5/14) SC478 and for the Clean & Simple Challenge CAS262 (3/3/14) - use neutral colors with the dessert option to use something natural.
I flipped the orientation of the original sketch from portrait to landscape. Which seemed like a really good idea, except that I forgot to also flip the orientation of the ribbon element....so much for relying on my memory!! Next time I will print the sketch challenge.
I chose to interpret the two circles in the sketch as a circle cutout and a smaller sponged ink circle inside the aperture. I'm loving all the nests I'm seeing used on cards, so I thought it would be fun to make a fluffy nest out of soft packaging excelsior that I saved from a food basket. It was easy to glue a small amount of the excelsior to a scrap of cardstock (shape was half of a small oval punch). Tucked the bird die cut inside, added the tendril to the backside and mounted in the opening that I had sponged in the shape of a smaller circle. Finished off with a few wraps of linen thread on the embossed panel and put it all together.
Thanks for stopping by to look at my Nesting Time card!
