Thanks Joan for the fun challenge. This started out as one card but ended up being two. Let me explain....
I had planned on eb'ing the tulips on vellum and a piece of pallette paper that I had smooshed left over acrylic paint on and didn't want to toss it. Then I was going to put the colored paper behind the vellum and wal-la......well that didn't work, so I decided to work with the pallette paper one.
I cut around the tulips and doodled them. Set aside. Took white cs, gessoed it then put absorbent ground over top so I could do a color wash for the sky wiping away some of the paint for the clouds.
Then I glued my tulips over top of this and liked it. Both sentiments were done on the computer and popped up. The one of the right had the corners rounded, the left one was cut out with deckle scissors.
Card on the left is the piece of vellum eb'd with the tulips then flipped over and painted with acrylic paints.
Turned it over, doodled the flowers, painted some clouds with my fingers, masked off for the sun and colored it with my fingers. Added the other sentiment. Done.
Well, I hope looking at these cards helps warm up the ones who are getting all that cold snow. We are finally getting some much needed rain. Have a great rest of the day.....TFL :0)

I enjoyed seeing your pretty, bright, and springy cards. They are both lovely and the tulips are gorgeous. Sounds like you worked hard on those cards. Great job.

Two beauties, Cathy. I think (marginally) I prefer the one on the left but that's because those white borders round the flowers are so striking. But I love the rich textures in your spent palette ones - and that gorgeous splash of lapis lazuli blue.
And both your cloud techniques are wonderful.

I would LOVE nothing better than to watch you work! I'm intrigued by your process in creating this and awed by the fact that you think of these unusual techniques! Love the bright, spring-like colors, something we are all looking forward to! These are awesome!
