I created this card for the Clean & Simple challenge (CAS 262, 3/3/14) to use neutral colors and the dessert option was to use a natural material. The natural material I chose to use here was the linen thread for the tie.
I am just learning to use stencils so I kept it simple and used an old one from my stash by Wordsworth that has 2 simple rectangular openings. I lightly sponged the edges with Memories soft wheat ink, leaving the center of the opening without ink. After I was all done stamping the silhouette images in black I realized that a fiber that had adhered to the rubber on the bird and kept the ink from loading properly. This left an open, un-inked spot on the bird's chest. ARG! I was quite unhappy with this flaw until I realized that the recipient will be feeling like they have lost part of their heart with the loss of their loved one. So this one will be sent as-is, flaw and all. I will definitely check my stamps before I stamp silhouette images again!
Thanks for looking at my Bird on a Branch card!

This is just lovely. And your boo boo turned out great in the end. I love when that happens
